My piece on Chris Brown got picked up by Reject Apathy, a potpurri magazine about, well, all kinds of stuff. Related to Relevant Mag.
Conflict of Interest
When I was 18, I had no conflicts of interest. I could say whatever idiot thing popped into my mind and would only have myself to represent.
I’m sure glad there were no blogs then. And that AOL Instant Messenger didn’t save all my angsty profiles.
I miss the days when everything you did wasn’t saved forever in the ether. Sorry, I mean the cloud.

Phonies
Ever feel like you’re the only one who can spot a phony?
The more enamored people are with someone, especially because of things they simply say, the more skeptical I get.
I have given up on calling out phonies though. Here’s why:
- You offend the people who are enamored.
- You sound like a naysayer
- Phonies usually get exposed or go stale.
In other words, cool your jets and pick your battles. If people want to be enamored, let them. These things have a way of working themselves out,
Unless the phony (phoney?) is building bridges. In that case, maybe you ought to speak up.

Scaping Paint
After chipping away at old paint for about 6 hours today, I
- wouldn’t wish it on anyone else.
- am buying an oscillating tool tomorrow.
Speaking of which, anyone out there ever used an oscillating tool to remove paint?
…
Yeah, there are definitely times I wish I still had readers.
Getting Over Myself
It took 2 years of blogging to stop being surprised, angry, and insulted that people around me didn’t read my blog.
The catalyst? The realization that I hardly ever read theirs either.
I also had to ask myself why I’d be insulted, and even began questioning the very reason I was blogging at all.
But that’s a story for another day.

Photo Perspective
My wife is traveling over the weekend, to New Orleans for some ministry stuff. I didn’t have time to clean off the large memory card (32gb), so I cleaned off the smaller one (8gb). I’ve got it set up for 4MP JPG and 12MP RAW, or (S) and (M), so that she’ll get about 400 shots,
Will that be enough?
Once upon a time that would have been 16 rolls.
Good grief.
Silver Lining
Ah, there’s been a silver lining to the negative feedback (see last post). An old friend who’d gone dark has re-emerged looking fit and firm. He wanted to know what the fuss was about, and has since made me smile with his unexpected insight.
Maybe bad stuff IS ABOUT the silver lining all along. Yeah?
